Freelance writer and editor based in east London. For 11 years I worked at The Guardian and The Observer, where I wrote and commissioned articles about film, music, books, art, TV, current affairs, disability, chronic illness, cats, Italy and more.
I have interviewed celebrities ranging from Werner Herzog to Debbie Harry, Emilia Clarke to Charli XCX, Michaela Coel to Jarvis Cocker, Alicia Vikander to Riz Ahmed, Lisa Kudrow to The Edge, as well as academics, scientists and politicians including Sadiq Khan. My debut novel At the Edge of the Woods(Two Dollar Radio, Seven Stories Press) was published in 2023; it was an American Booksellers Association “Indies Introduce” Pick and an Independent Press Bestseller. My second novel, Distortion, will be published in spring 2027. I am represented by Matt Turner at Rogers, Coleridge and White.
I have an MA in Magazine Journalism from City, University of London, an MA in English: Issues in Modern Culture from University College London and a BA in English Literature from the University of York.
